Elementary and high school education is mandatory

The Macedonian educational system makes elementary and high school education mandatory.  In addition to standard high schools, there are many vocational high schools in each city that enable students to learn various trades.  Vocational schools and universities both offer tailor-made training programs in an effort to meet the specific needs of companies investing in Macedonia.

85% of high school graduates enrolled in universities

In 2008, 85% of high school graduates were enrolled in universities, and there was a 35% increase in the total number of undergraduate degrees in 2007 compared to 2006.  With 45% of the population under 30 years of age, Macedonia offers a young, educated, and skilled workforce.

6% of GDP spent on education.

English language education is mandatory starting first grade elementary school.
